Pakistan was getting out of hands... Regradless I still pray for them and inshallah everything will go well... We donate money but who knows if our money is even reaching these poor and innocent people. Our people forgot the meaning of Pakistan, and how hard we fought for this country.

There are organizations that can get the money there without it touching government hands. If you're still worried, do a drive for clothes, medicine, blankets, food, etc. There are always ways to help. The situation will improve, inshallah.

natural disasters like floods, aren't in our hands to control...when they occur, we do our duty (or at least try to) as humans, muslims (or any religion really) and send them donations and our prayers. those who are affected cannot help themselves. they do not know where to begin. but even if they did know...does that mean we should turn the other cheek and not help anyway? and yes, i agree - pakistan IS out of hands. this year i didn't experience it (perhaps because it was ramadan), but usually on pakistan independence day, you have youngster rolling around the street, starting unneccesary fights, drinking, speeding in their cars, getting arrested....do they realise what Pakistan Independence day is all about?!?!? even on the month of ramadan, i'm not entirely sure if pakistan could put their differences aside and live peacefully for a change (i'm refering to the Sailkot situation here). all the same i'm praying for them...that's all we can do pray for them.

Its simply Azaab from Allah (swt0 for our sins and deeds.I dont agree with people who say its natural and we dont have control over it, its natural but we are the reason. What else can you expect when you ahve corruption, drugs, prostitutes, voilence and all type of all crimes happening in every single corner of my beloved country. Now lets wait and watch whats going to happen in the sialkot. God bless Pakistan and PAKISTANIS.

Ok, so your right- we are to blame for when disasters occur. When corruption is THAT bad...we are to blame. But here, I'm talking about those who haven't experienced floods, earthquakes & absolute distasters that most third world countries have, & who in turn say "well, it doesn't concern me so why should I care". Let's not forget, where one country or a group of people are affected, Allah (SWT) brings it to everyone's attention...He may be punishing those who are affected but He is also testing the rest if us, to see who has done their duty as a Muslim and gave Zaqhat, especially during the month of Ramadan. And as for waiting to see what happens in Sailkot..I'm tired of watching. Watching doesn't CHANGE anything. It's about time something got done if there's any hope of Pakistan improving. I'd say Allah, bless those who truly deserve to be blessed, and send mercy upon us on the day of judgement where we will need it most.

Ameen ya rub! Your point is obvious and very much true too, how one can understand others pain until or unless ve been through or been thought. Its really good to meet people like you,who are concern abt other ill fate.No doubt its a sign of Allah(swt) punishment and we must take it as a lesson.I cmpltly agree wth you, now its time to do something constructive rather than just talk talk and talk, which we pakis are the best at.May Allah(swt) bless those in hardtime and have mercy on us. I saw your comments on other stories and red your profile. You sound nice and serious. :))

I do not believe the floods were sent as retribution. The Pakistani people are not the same as the Pakistani politicians that hurt such a harsh country to live in anyway. If the goverment would stop serving itself and attend to the needs of the people, the desperation that drives otherwise good people to sin will lessen. Are all the people good? No. And though while men are still fundamentally in control of their own path, when water sweeps away what bare little you and your family labored for and your children are starving, it is resonable to see why some have their faith tried. That is when the Ummah comes in to give them strength when they have exhausted all that they have. May the international community hurry to aid as what many Pakistanis have already tried to help their countrymen. All prayers for my family of Pakistan.

Good work! May Allah(swt) reward you for your sincere efforts and layla86, firstly i red your comment you made on other story, good one and there you said you are not religious, so kindly keep your views seprate from religious veiwpoint.Disaster only occur from where blessings are withdrawn. Your point is valid abt government, but we are the people who brought them into power and let them govern us.So as you said, the best thing now is to forget our differences and be united because unity is strength.Hope your family is all safe and sound.

Dear sir, I wonder what comment you are referring to because I have made it a specific point not to talk about my faith because I am incredibly devoted to my religion. It is the essence of my being and the first priority and perspective in which I see everything. I have spoken about how I teach religion because it is so important to me. So I feel I have every right as a woman of faith to make a simple notation that you can either agree or disgree with. I feel that there is no way a human mind can comprehend fully what plans we are a part of. We can not fully understand what is a blessing or what is a curse. We can only see the surface of the waters while the One who stirs and sustains the depths is the only One who can know the extent of such labor. In my humble opinion, to speak something like a natural disaster as an act of "Divine Retribution" is an arragance implying a mortal human animal has the same mind as their Creator. I trust my faith and I trust my religion enough not to ever think I can come close to knowing the plan of the One who made me and set me upon the course before me. My family is all the people of Pakistan. True I have some more immediate peoples likeny grandmother and sister there. I have not heard from them in weeks. But all who suffer and live are my family. Including you. :) May we all be carried in the Hands of Our Creator.

ok uhm u do knw dat all the money dat is donated never gets to the poor? it is passed on to the politicians and isi or isa for funding military nd nuclear programs? obv u hav some of the money accessed by the terrorists. ^ all this was told by a very good nationalistic pakistani friend of mine. nd i agree wid him. pakistan just invested in a nuclear program did it not ? so everytime/every year there is a natural disaster , pakistan begs for money to the world? i feel disgusted to be of a pakistani decent.
