YOu should stop publishing bullshit stories

Wth man why in gods green grass do we have to write full paragraphs and worry bout our grammer were not giving a collage exam I think all the storys submited should be published and there's no need for u to edit it. What is wrong with trying to use good grammar in everything you write? How a person writes says a lot about how well that person can communicate. Perhaps I do not understand the problem you have Admin.'s request that people who submit stories attempt to use the most basic grammar and spelling rules, since I am not smart enough to take a "collage" exam. I have, however, taken many college exams. I wonder if they are they similar? *sigh* There is nothing to suggest that Admin. is editing these stories for content. If they were do so, then that would be a problem. This post only implies that Admin. edits posts with glaring spelling errors, posts that come in using "text messaging language", and those posts that come in with eVeRY FeW LeTteRs cApItaLiZeD. Writing in that manner and using really poor grammar is annoying to read. Admin. has the right to edit the posts so that people can read and understand them. Admin. also has the right to decide which stories get published. We, as readers, get to decide which ones are "desi" and which ones are "flop" stories. If you do not think that the story is desi, you are free to vote that way. I respectfully disagree with your contention that you "speak the truth." You speak of your opinion, nothing more or less than that. :)

*have with* in the second line and *doing* rather than *do* in the 5th line. Nobody has perfect grammar and spelling all the time, but it's better to try and correct errors rather than give up entirely. :)

Its great we're having a discussion and all about the usage of proper grammar on TMDL, but I have a hunch we don't need to worry about this specific post at all...seeing as anyone can write "admin" and submit a story. Plus...I doubt the real admin/editor of this site is alive....(figuratively ofcourse). Billorani....everyone's entitled to their own opinion. Doesn't mean there is something wrong with them.....As for the discussion, my view would be...its qUiTe AnOYinG to REad SOmThinG TyPEd LYke DiS but its not a big deal if you screw up on grammar and spelling . It just has to be readable. Like prose, and the vernacular! The point is to get your point across an anyone who is serious about it will write so others can read it without distraction. Like the SAT essay! A few errors- no problem! It just shouldn't be distracting. So Desidoll and Pinky are correct in my opinion. And whats with the name calling lately?!

@ Priyam: You're right, its not the minor errors that "admin" is referring to, its the ones that make the post itself difficult to understand. @ Bebo: The post doesn't have to be a paragraph. "Admin" never said that it had to be a whole paragraph; "Admin" is only saying that the average two-sentence post should not have grammar errors and spelling errors that make the post difficult to understand. I still don't see what the problem is with that.

For the kids out there who lack reading skills (and obviously writing skills), I said the grammar does not have to be perfect... but it does have to be presentable. People should not have to struggle to read what you write. There should be some semblance of punctuation, some semblance of grammar, and some semblance of proper spelling. If somebody has to struggle to understand your story, no matter how funny it actually is when written clearly, I'm going to reject it. I don't have the time to edit your nonsense. You need to spend the extra 10 seconds to make it readable by yourself. If you'd rather write like you are a 6th grader, it's not going up. I don't think writing something that is clear is really that difficult to do. Here is an example of a bad story... this is far from the worst, but its an example of something I would not post as is (it's also a repeated post, but thats besides the point): Today me and my family walked all the way to the ice cream store and my big cousin decided to try all the samples of ice cream till they get mad then after he tryed 3 samples the lady that worked there got mad then my cousin asked my sister if she would get some more samples for him-tmd
