Today, my girlfriend asked me if we can go to Florida for two weeks to celebrate our anniversary and tell our parents it is for work! I said yes! TMDL

Haha. You sound very excited! Well have fun...! And try not to think about how hurt your parents would be when they find out you couldn't have trust them and cheated them in such a disgusting manner. I mean...they're just your parents..who made you who you are today..they totally deserve to be proud of how their child has grown up and works so hard. Yeah, try not to think about that!

Don't lie to your parents. Just tell them you're going on a trip. You don't have to say you're going with your significant other, but if you have the means to go on a trip like that I feel it's safe to assume you are of age and are financially independant. To that I say you need to just be a damn adult and not ask permission, just tell where you're going and call when you get there so they don't worry. Choose to be an independant but considerate adult versus a stupid child who acts as if they're dirty or ashamed of something.

The second anniversary ...of something intermediary. That's how things are done here, and everyone finds it natural. (Starting over a few times is, too.) Protracting an intermediate relationship indefinitely -backing gingerly into the future- can produce serious life-partnerships. It happens. Now, the flip side of life in a country that has no code governing reproductive patterns is precisely that since anything goes, just about any outcome is to be expected. Playing house for a couple of years *could* produce a life-time bond based on mutual acquaintance of characters, rather than on transient needs (kein ahora!), and I wish that for you too. That's what we all need to have happening around us. ...So you are enjoying the solidity of the Eastern family, whilst disporting yourselves freely under the evanescent Western sun on the Southern beaches... Too cool ! Notice, however, the price of having things both ways: the need to lie and dissemble. You know these are wrong. It is impossible to do something wrong, knowingly, without being *changed*.
