Today, I was going shopping with my mom when I hit my head getting into the car. My mom said that I had ruined our trip because now we had bad luck and she wouldn't get a good sale on anything. Then she told me to get out of the car and back in to help get rid of the bad luck. TMDL

Today, I realized how blunt desis are. I go to Bangladesh for my cousin's wedding and my aunt tells me I look much better than before, b/c last time we came, I was very ugly. Also about how I've gotten fatter. But it's good b/c if I'm too skinny, I won't get any good shadhis. TMDL

Today, my school was selling roses for Valentine's day. I happened to receive two from a "secret admirer". While every girl was excited they got a rose, I was worried about how the heck do I take these home! TMDL

Today, I was expecting a letter, so when I asked my Dad if anything in the mail came for me, he replied asking "from who?" I jokingly said my secret boyfriend. Turns out he believed me and went on about how that was not funny and is now watching everything I do in case there is a secret boyfriend (which there isn't). TMDL

Today, at our 7-eleven, my mom asked a young teenager for ID when he tried buying condoms. When I told her ID isn't required she called me "besharam" and said I probably buy them because I know ID isn't required. TMDL

Today, I got into a performing arts program which was very limited and hard to get into. But I had to give it up for an IB school b/c music and arts won't get me anywhere and it'll be a shame if I'm not a doctor. TMDL
